Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (rakṣā, tilaka, nīrājana, arghya-vidhi)
It teaches a protective worship sequence: apply a rakṣā-tilaka, then perform nīrājana using specified media—herb-infused ghee, water, milk, and arghya-designated items such as kuśa.
By prescribing concrete ritual materials and sequencing (tilaka → nīrājana → arghya-related implements), it documents practical liturgical technology alongside the Purana’s broader coverage of many disciplines.
The rite is aimed at śubha (auspiciousness) and rakṣā (protection), traditionally understood to avert harm, purify the ritual space/person, and stabilize beneficial spiritual results of worship.
