Concept: Outer offerings are grounded in inner worship; mantra and materials require saṃskāra (purificatory conditioning) and the practitioner must be ritually ‘installed’ through ātmā-pūjā.
Application: Before any major pūjā/homa, include a short inner-worship and purification checklist (mantra, vessels, offerings, self) to prevent procedural lapses.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 earlier instructions indicated by 'pūrvavat' (pañcagavya preparation/usage; mantra-dravya śodhana); Agni Purana mantra and pūjā-upacāra sections (general)
It teaches a sequence within pūjā-vidhi: perform antaryāga (internal worship), offer a viśeṣārghya (special honor-offering), and carry out śodhana (consecratory purification) of mantras and ritual materials, followed by ātmā-pūjā using pañcagavya as earlier prescribed.
By codifying precise ritual operations—inner worship, arghya protocol, and mantra/material purification—it exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical, manual-like coverage of temple/home worship procedures alongside its many other disciplines.
The verse emphasizes purity and correct consecration: internal worship aligns intention, śodhana removes ritual impurity/defects, and pañcagavya functions as a traditional purifier—together supporting merit (puṇya) and efficacy (siddhi) of the worship.
