इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये नानामन्त्रादिकथनं नाम एकनवतितमो ऽध्यायः अथ द्विनवतितमो ऽध्यायः प्रतिष्ठाविधिकथनं ईश्वर उवाच प्रतिष्ठां सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि क्रमात् सङ्क्षेपतो गुह पीठं शक्तिं शिवो लिङ्गं तद्योगः सा शिवाणुभिः
ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye nānāmantrādikathanaṃ nāma ekanavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha dvinavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pratiṣṭhāvidhikathanaṃ īśvara uvāca pratiṣṭhāṃ sampravakṣyāmi kramāt saṅkṣepato guha pīṭhaṃ śaktiṃ śivo liṅgaṃ tadyogaḥ sā śivāṇubhiḥ
Ainsi, dans l’Agni Purāṇa, s’achève le quatre-vingt-onzième chapitre, intitulé «Exposé des divers mantras et des matières connexes». Commence maintenant le quatre-vingt-douzième chapitre, «Récit de la procédure d’installation consacratoire (pratiṣṭhā)». Le Seigneur dit : «Ô Guha, j’exposerai, dans l’ordre et brièvement, le rite d’installation (pratiṣṭhā) : le piédestal (pīṭha) est Śakti ; Śiva est le liṅga ; et leur union (yoga) s’accomplit par les śivāṇu, les puissances/particules subtiles de Śiva.»
