Concept: Transmission (śakti-pāta/adhikāra) is enacted through embodied signs: mudrā (gesture), mantra (sound), and bindu (consecrated substance) to seal purity and eligibility.

Application: In initiation contexts, treat the sūtra and bindu as ‘seals’ of commitment and protection; maintain ritual cleanliness and intentionality to preserve the saṃskāra.

FAQs

It teaches a dīkṣā-style procedure: attaching a consecrated element to a ritual thread using a specified purificatory mudrā (Śuddhayodbhava), and empowering the disciple by placing an amṛta-bindu on the head through the mūla-mantra.

Beyond mythic narration, it preserves precise operational liturgy—how mantra, mudrā, and ritual implements (thread/cord) are coordinated in initiation—showing the text’s coverage of applied ritual technology alongside theology and dharma.

The act symbolizes purification and transmission of spiritual potency: the mudrā purifies, the mūla-mantra authorizes the rite, and the amṛta-bindu marks the disciple’s head as ritually consecrated, indicating eligibility for further mantra practice and worship.
