FAQs

It assigns specific mantras to specific purification operations: Śastra-mantra for laya (ritual dissolution), Śiva-mantra for cleansing the bodily channels (śrotas), and Hṛd-mantra for tattva-śuddhi (purifying the ontic principles), to be applied within saṃskāras such as garbhādhāna.

It exemplifies the text’s manual-like organization of applied ritual science—mapping mantra-types to physiological (śrotas) and metaphysical (tattva) purification—integrating saṃskāra practice with tantric-style mantra taxonomy.

By prescribing targeted mantra-purifications before and during saṃskāras, the verse frames these rites as deliberate removal of subtle and gross impurities, aiming to sanctify conception and subsequent life-cycle rites for improved spiritual merit and purity of lineage.
