FAQs

It provides a prayoga (practical closing formula) asking that any defects—strain, error, or lack of proper saṃskāra (ritual refinement)—be purified through the pavitra (sanctifying rite/mantra) by the deity’s will.

Beyond mythic narration, it preserves actionable liturgical language used to complete rites and neutralize procedural faults—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical ritual technology (pujā, śuddhi, and expiation).

It frames sincerity (sarvātmanā) and divine sanction (tvad-icchayā) as the means by which ritual shortcomings are purified, protecting the performer from doṣa (fault) and aligning the act with merit.
