It gives a mantra-style sequence for domestic protection: invoking Varuṇa/jalāgni for purification and right transformation of household substances, invoking Vighnarāja at the threshold to prevent impediments, and invoking an auspicious presence at the grinding area to bless daily sustenance.
Beyond theology, it preserves applied household ritual practice—mapping deities and protective forces onto specific functional zones (doorway, water/fluids, food-preparation tools), showing the text’s coverage of practical gṛhya-rites alongside larger cosmological topics.
By sanctifying the threshold and the instruments of daily nourishment, the rite is intended to remove obstacles, maintain purity and order (ṛta/dharma), and ensure auspicious prosperity—turning routine domestic actions into merit-bearing sacred acts.
