Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Svīṣṭakṛt fourth āhuti with ṣaḍaṅga-nyāsa and Dhenumudrā","lookup_keywords":["svīṣṭakṛt","caturthī āhuti","ṣaḍaṅga nyāsa","dhenumudrā","hāṁ"],"quick_summary":"Offer the fourth ghee oblation to Agni as Svīṣṭakṛt; consecrate via six-limbed nyāsa and seal/awaken the operation with Dhenumudrā for ritual completion and protection."}

Concept: Saṃskāra and mudrā as ‘seals’ (bandhana) that stabilize mantra-karman; Svīṣṭakṛt as the integrative completion principle.

Application: After core offerings, always perform completion oblation and protective sealing (nyāsa + mudrā) to prevent leakage of intent and to ‘close’ the rite properly.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

It teaches the precise performance of the fourth ghee-oblation as the Svishṭakṛt offering to Agni, including the exact mantra, the use of ṣaḍaṅga (six-limbed) mantra-nyāsa for empowerment, and sealing/activation through Dhenumudrā.

Beyond narrative religion, it preserves step-by-step ritual technology—mantra-prayoga, nyāsa methodology, and mudrā application—showing the Agni Purana’s role as a practical manual for pūjā and homa alongside its broader teachings.

The Svishṭakṛt oblation is a concluding “making-well-offered” act that ritually perfects the sacrifice, remedies defects, and aims at purification and merit by properly dedicating the offering to Agni with mantra, nyāsa, and mudrā.
