Related Themes: Agni Purana Puja-vidhi: snāna-vidhi chapter opening (72); Agni Purana śauca/prāyaścitta-related passages where mṛd and water are used for purification
It introduces the Snāna-vidhi section and gives a practical rule for preparing ritual clay: extract clean earth with a digging tool and take a standard measure (eight aṅgulas) for purification/bathing-related rites.
It shifts from Gaṇeśa/Vināyaka worship to procedural hygiene and ritual-technology—standardized measurements, tools, and materials—showing the text’s coverage of both devotion (pūjā) and applied ritual practice (snāna, materials, pratiṣṭhā).
Bathing and the use of properly prepared purificatory clay are presented as foundational acts of śauca (ritual purity), supporting effective worship and reducing ritual impurity, thereby enhancing religious merit in daily observance.
