Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Shilpa","practical_application":"Mandala/āvaraṇa-pūjā sequencing: worship of attendant principles (Gaṇa, Guru, Pādukā, Śakti, Ananta, Dharma) and structural layers (bone-circle, upper/lower coverings) during deity-installation or daily worship.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Āvaraṇa-devatā order in mandala worship (Gaṇa–Guru–Pādukā–Śakti–Ananta–Dharma–Asthi-maṇḍala)","lookup_keywords":["āvaraṇa-pūjā","mandala","Guru-pādukā","Śakti","Ananta"],"quick_summary":"Worship proceeds through a defined hierarchy: protective/attendant deities and principles, then the mandala’s core ring and its upper/lower coverings, completing the ritual enclosure."}

Concept: Āvaraṇa-bhāvanā: divinity is approached through concentric supports—guru-paramparā, śakti, cosmic support (ananta), and dharma—before the core is accessed.

Application: In pūjā, maintain sequence and completeness; treat diagram layers as living presences to stabilize attention and sanctify space.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Iconography & Mandala Worship / Tantric-ritual components of deity-installation and daily worship)

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A ritual mandala with concentric layers: outer attendants (Gaṇa), Guru and pādukā, Śakti, Ananta, Dharma, then a central ‘bone-circle’ ring, with upper and lower coverings being offered flowers and lamps in sequence.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, top-down mandala diagram rendered iconically: concentric rings with small deity-figures labeled Gaṇa, Guru, Pādukā, Śakti, Ananta (serpent ring), Dharma; priest offering flowers; muted ochres and reds, temple wall aesthetic.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore style, central mandala as jeweled medallion with gold foil; small seated figures of Guru and Śakti; Ananta as coiled serpent border; offerings arranged symmetrically; rich ornament and haloed icons.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, instructional clarity: concentric mandala with neat inscriptions; sequential worship shown in panels (Gaṇa → Guru → Pādukā → Śakti → Ananta → Dharma → asthi-maṇḍala → coverings); delicate shading and fine lines.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, courtly ritual room: a painted mandala on the floor, attendants placing flowers in order; detailed textiles and vessels; small symbolic figures for Śakti and Dharma; precise geometry."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Kalyani","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: शक्त्यनन्तौ = शक्ति + अनन्तौ; चाधश्चोर्ध्वच्छदनम् = च + अधः + च + ऊर्ध्वच्छदनम्.

FAQs

It prescribes āvaraṇa/ancillary worship in mandala-arcana: honoring obstacle-removal (Gaṇa), lineage authority (Guru and pādukā), empowering principles (Śakti and Ananta), ritual-ethical correctness (Dharma), and specific mandala-structure elements (the main ring and upper/lower coverings).

It preserves a highly technical checklist of mandala-based worship—combining theology (Śakti, Ananta, Dharma), ritual protocol (Guru-pādukā), and diagrammatic/architectural vocabulary (maṇḍala components and coverings), showing the Purana’s practical manual-like breadth.

By worshipping the supports of the rite (Guru-lineage, Śakti, Dharma, and the mandala’s structural layers), the practitioner removes obstacles, stabilizes the ritual’s efficacy, and aligns the act of worship with dharma—thereby increasing merit and purity.
