Concept: Completeness (pūrṇatā) in ritual: inner focus (dhyāna) + outer worship (arcana) + sacrificial offering (homa) culminates in pūrṇāhuti.

Application: Use fixed counts (100/1000) for discipline; always conclude with pūrṇāhuti to avoid ritual incompletion (apūrṇatā-doṣa).

FAQs

It prescribes the standard ritual sequence—dhyāna (meditation), arcana (formal worship), and homa (fire-offering) to Hari at the outset of any rite, including recommended counts of oblations (100 or 1000) and the requirement of a concluding pūrṇāhuti.

It exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s practical ritual manual aspect by giving operational details of worship—order of acts, oblation counts, and the technical closure rite (pūrṇāhuti)—alongside its many other domains (polity, medicine, architecture, poetics).

Beginning rites with Hari-centered meditation, worship, and homa frames the ceremony as devotional and purificatory; the pūrṇāhuti signifies completion and wholeness of the sacrifice, traditionally understood to “seal” the rite and its merit.
