Related Themes: Agni Purana 66 (mantra-prayoga within homa); Agni Purana mantra sections (gāyatrī, vyāhṛti usage in pūjā contexts)
It prescribes mantra-prayoga for homa: offering oblations using the Vyāhṛtis and Gāyatrī, and specific epithets/mantra-names directed to Bhūr-Agni.
It functions as a practical ritual manual entry—cataloging exact mantra-forms and target-deity aspects for oblations—showing the text’s coverage of precise liturgical procedure alongside other sciences.
Correctly performed homa with sanctioned mantras is taught as a purificatory act that aligns the sacrificer with cosmic order (through Vyāhṛtis/Gāyatrī) and invokes Agni as the carrier of offerings for merit and protection.
