It introduces Vāstu-vidyā for civic/ritual architecture: choosing the proper site for an assembly-hall and performing the Vāstu-yāga after examining the land, before the structure is put into functional use.
By shifting from water-structure consecrations (wells, stepwells, tanks) to public/royal infrastructure (the sabhā), it shows the text’s breadth—covering not only theology but also applied disciplines like architecture, site-testing, and ritual protocols for inaugurating built spaces.
Testing the land and performing the Vāstu-sacrifice sacralizes the building site, aligning construction with dharma and minimizing inauspicious influences; the act is framed as a purificatory prerequisite to rightful, orderly use of communal or royal spaces.
