Chapter 63 — सुदर्शनचक्रादिप्रतिष्ठाकथनं
Procedure for Consecrating the Sudarśana Discus and Other Divine Emblems

Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Shilpa","secondary_vidya":"Puja-vidhi","practical_application":"Sets the scope for consecrating divine emblems and forms (Garuda, Sudarśana, Brahmā, Narasiṃha) following Viṣṇu-pratiṣṭhā pattern, each with its own mantra—useful as a procedural rule for temple/household installations.","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Description","entry_title":"General rule: consecrate Garuḍa, Sudarśana, Brahmā, Narasiṃha like Viṣṇu with respective mantras","lookup_keywords":["Sudarśana-pratiṣṭhā","Tārkṣya (Garuḍa)","Narasimha-pratiṣṭhā","Brahmā-pratiṣṭhā","svamantra"],"quick_summary":"The chapter introduces a rule of equivalence: perform these consecrations on the Viṣṇu model, but apply each deity/emblem’s own mantra as the differentiator."}
Concept: Ritual taxonomy: shared procedure with mantra-specific identity; mantra is the key differentiator of form and function in consecration.
Application: When adapting a known Viṣṇu-pratiṣṭhā template, keep the procedural skeleton but swap in the correct svamantra for each deity/emblem.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Pratiṣṭhā-kalpa / Temple Icon Consecration)

Sandhi Resolution Notes: ity = इति; द्विषष्टितमोऽध्यायः = द्विषष्टितमः + अध्यायः; त्रिषष्टितमोऽध्यायः = त्रिषष्टितमः + अध्यायः; विष्णुवत् = विष्णु + वत्.
Related Themes: Agni Purana ch. 62 (Lakṣmī-sthāpana); Agni Purana ch. 63 (Sudarśana-cakra etc. pratiṣṭhā)
It introduces the pratiṣṭhā-vidhi: the consecration of Garuḍa, Sudarśana Chakra, Brahmā, and Narasiṃha is to be performed following the Viṣṇu-model, using each deity’s specific mantra.
By cataloging standardized installation protocols across multiple deities and emblems (not only Viṣṇu), it preserves a transferable ritual template—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s broad coverage of temple liturgy, mantra-application, and icon-consecration methodology.
Correct mantra-based consecration is presented as a means to properly invoke and stabilize divine presence in an image/emblem, supporting purity of worship, continuity of merit (puṇya), and the efficacy of temple rites.
