Concept: Saṃskāra through saṃgraha: combining ‘essences’ (ratna, oṣadhi, dhātu, bīja, loha) to stabilize and ‘seed’ the maṇḍala with prosperity and protection.

Application: When performing adhivāsa, assemble representative substances (wealth, vitality, fertility, strength) and place them within the maṇḍala to ritually ‘charge’ the rite.

FAQs

It prescribes an adhivāsa step: preparing an auspicious deposit/vessel containing aṣṭaratna (eight gems) along with herbs, metals, seeds, and iron, covered with cloth and filled with water, and placing it within the consecrated maṇḍala for ritual energization.

Beyond theology, it catalogs precise ritual materials (gems, auṣadhi, dhātu, bīja, lauha) and their liturgical handling (cloth-covering, water-filling, mandala placement), illustrating the text’s practical manual-like coverage of temple and household consecration rites.

Adhivāsa within the maṇḍala is a sanctifying act: it ritually purifies and charges the substances so they become fit for worship and installation, supporting śuddhi (purity) and puṇya (merit) through correctly performed consecration.
