Concept: Outer installation (bahir-pratiṣṭhā) is completed by inner installation (hṛt-pratiṣṭhā): the deity is not only placed in stone/space but stabilized in consciousness.
Application: During consecration, pair architectural/ritual correctness (dvāra-siddhi, homa, arcana) with meditative internalization so the installed presence is sustained beyond the ceremony.

It outlines a prātiṣṭhā (installation) step: after preparing the consecration doorway, the ācārya installs Hari/Viṣṇu, performs offerings (samid, ghee, sesame, etc.), worships, and proceeds toward the hṛt-pratiṣṭhā (internal/heart-based consecration).
It preserves practical temple-ritual protocol—text-critical variants included—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of applied liturgy (pratiṣṭhā, offerings, worship sequence) alongside its many other disciplines.
By combining external installation in the temple with hṛt-pratiṣṭhā (inner establishment), the rite sacralizes both the shrine and the worshipper’s inner awareness, framing consecration as both material and spiritual purification.
