Chapter 47 — शालग्रामादिपूजाकथनं
Teaching the Worship of Śālagrāma and Related Sacred Forms

It teaches the correct sequencing in Śālagrāma-pūjā: first honour Viśvaksena, Sudarśana Cakra, and the Kṣetrapāla as protective/administrative deities of the rite and space, before beginning the main worship.
By codifying procedural details of worship (who must be invoked first and why), it preserves practical temple-and-household liturgy alongside other domains (law, polity, medicine, arts), showing the text’s wide-ranging, manual-like scope.
The verse states that neglecting the preliminary honours removes the rite’s efficacy (phala), implying that proper guardianship, permission, and ritual order are necessary for worship to yield merit and spiritual results.
