Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Vastu","secondary_vidya":"Dharmashastra","practical_application":"Selecting/avoiding specific east-side door positions in a house to prevent predicted inauspicious outcomes (fire risk, conflict, loss).","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"East-side doorway omens (eight positions)","lookup_keywords":["prag-dvara","dvara-phala","purva-dik","vastu-omena","ashta-phala"],"quick_summary":"Enumerates fixed, sequential results for eight eastern door-locations; used as a quick diagnostic/selection rule in doorway planning."}
Concept: Built-space (vāstu) choices are framed as karmaphala-like causes for social, ethical, and life-outcome changes.
Application: Treat doorway placement as a dharmic precaution: avoid positions associated with adharma, conflict, and destructive loss.
Khanda Section: Vāstu-Śāstra / Dvāra-Vicāra (Omens and effects of door-orientations)
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A house plan grid showing eight possible door points along the eastern wall, each labeled with outcomes like dharma-loss, quarrel, poverty, fire, suffering, friend-loss, wealth-loss, death.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style, flat vivid colors, a traditional house (gṛha) diagram with the eastern wall highlighted, eight door positions marked with Sanskrit labels (धर्मक्षय, कलि, नैस्व्य, दाह, असुख, सुहृन्नाश, धननाश, मृत्यु), protective deities at corners, ornamental borders.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting with gold leaf accents, stylized vāstu-puruṣa mandala behind a house facade, eastern doorway positions indicated with gold-highlighted markers, small cartouches showing the eight phalas, rich reds and greens.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting style, instructional architectural plate: measured house elevation and plan, east wall segmented into eight door slots, neat callouts for each predicted result, soft shading and precise linework.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, court architect presenting a scroll with an east-facing house plan to a patron, eight door options illustrated with tiny vignettes (fire, quarrel, loss), fine detailing, muted palette, marginal annotations in Devanagari."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
Related Themes: Agni Purana 105 (Dvāra-vicāra; dvara-phala sequences for other directions); Agni Purana 106 (settlement vāstu begins; site selection)
It gives a Vāstu-śāstra mapping of eight eastern door-positions and their predicted outcomes (dharma-loss, strife, poverty, fire, misery, loss of friends, loss of wealth, and death), used to judge or avoid inauspicious entrances.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purāṇa preserves applied sciences like Vāstu—practical architectural diagnostics linking spatial planning (door placement) with social and karmic consequences.
The verse treats improper door-placement as a cause or indicator of adverse karmic fruition—decline of dharma and escalation of misfortune—thereby motivating alignment with auspicious spatial order.
