Ensuite, après l’avoir purifié comme précédemment avec le pañcagavya, des décoctions et autres, on doit placer le kumbha (vase rituel) sur la śayyā consacrée et méditer sur Rudra, l’époux d’Umā.

Concept: External śodhana supports internal dhyāna: purity of implements and space is paired with focused contemplation of Rudra–Umā to establish ritual efficacy (adhikāra and sannidhi).
Application: In pūjā, sequence matters: cleanse materials first, then establish the kumbha on a sanctified base, then stabilize the deity-image through dhyāna before further offerings.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Rudra–Uma worship and purification rites)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta

Sandhi Resolution Notes: pañcagavyakaṣāyādyaiḥ = pañca-gavya-kaṣāya-ādibhiḥ (ādi + bhis → ādyaiḥ by declension of ādi-). saṃskṛtantataḥ = saṃskṛtam + tataḥ. kumbhamāropya = kumbham + āropya. rudramumāpatiṃ = rudram + umāpatiṃ.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 101 (pūjā-vidhi purification and kumbha rites)
It prescribes a specific sequence in worship: purify the ritual implements with pañcagavya and decoctions, install the kumbha on the śayyā, and perform Rudra–Umāpati dhyāna (meditative invocation).
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s manual-like coverage of applied ritual technology—detailing purification media (pañcagavya/kaṣāya), installation logistics (kumbha on śayyā), and deity-focused meditation—alongside its many other disciplines.
Purification and proper installation sanctify the rite, while meditation on Rudra as Umā’s Lord aligns the performer’s intent with the deity, supporting ritual efficacy and the accumulation of purificatory merit (śuddhi/puṇya).
