इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे गङ्गामाहात्म्यं नाम दशाधिकशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ एकादशाधिकशततमो ऽध्यायः प्रयागमाहात्म्यं अग्निर् उवाच वक्ष्ये प्रयागमाहात्म्यं भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदं परं प्रयागे ब्रह्मविष्ण्वाद्या देव मुनिवराः स्थिताः

ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe gaṅgāmāhātmyaṃ nāma daśādhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha ekādaśādhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ prayāgamāhātmyaṃ agnir uvāca vakṣye prayāgamāhātmyaṃ bhuktimuktipradaṃ paraṃ prayāge brahmaviṣṇvādyā deva munivarāḥ sthitāḥ

Ainsi, dans l’Agni Mahāpurāṇa, le chapitre intitulé « La grandeur de la Gaṅgā » est le cent dixième. Commence maintenant le cent onzième chapitre, « La grandeur de Prayāga ».
