FAQs

It teaches a namaskāra-mantra used in worship and purification contexts, honoring cows (as sanctifying beings) and invoking auspiciousness (śrī) and ritual purity (pavitrā).

Alongside topics like polity, medicine, and poetics, the Agni Purana preserves practical liturgical material—short salutations and purity-formulas—showing its coverage of day-to-day ritual religion and dharmic observance.

Offering repeated salutations to sacred, purifying beings is presented as a means of accruing merit (puṇya) and cultivating internal and external purity, aligning the practitioner with auspiciousness and dharmic conduct.
