Related Themes: Agni Purana 282 (GI/udara remedies sequence)
Ayurvedic clinical knowledge: it prescribes a specific herbal decoction (śṛta-jala) to be administered for atīsāra (diarrhea), including āma-associated and chronic forms, and for painful bowel colic with abnormal discharge.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond mythology—preserving practical Ayurvedic therapeutics (drug lists, dosage-form as decoction, and condition-specific indications) alongside other sciences.
By framing healing as dharmic care aligned with right knowledge (vidyā), the text treats disease-management as a purifying, welfare-oriented act that supports the body as an instrument for dharma and worship.
