देवदेव उवाच तस्यां तपत्यां नरसत्तमेन जातः सुतः पार्थिवलक्षणस्तु स जातकर्मादिभिरेव संस्कृतो विवर्द्धताज्येन हुतो यथाग्निः

devadeva uvāca tasyāṃ tapatyāṃ narasattamena jātaḥ sutaḥ pārthivalakṣaṇastu sa jātakarmādibhireva saṃskṛto vivarddhatājyena huto yathāgniḥ

Dijo Devadeva: En aquella Tapatī, por el mejor de los hombres, nació un hijo que portaba las señales propias de un rey. Fue debidamente consagrado por los saṃskāras, comenzando con el jāta-karma; y creció como el fuego alimentado con ghee cada vez mayor.
