kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
«O bien, tras cavar un pozo con gran esfuerzo, si el agua resulta salobre, ese esfuerzo se desperdicia. Del mismo modo, una vida llevada entre muchas penalidades se desperdicia si se vive sin dharma.»
