तदेषामेव सर्वेषां विप्रसंस्थापनं परम् । देवसंस्थापनं चैव धर्मस्तन्मूल एव यत्
tadeṣāmeva sarveṣāṃ viprasaṃsthāpanaṃ param | devasaṃsthāpanaṃ caiva dharmastanmūla eva yat
Por ello, entre todas estas formas de dar, lo supremo es el debido establecimiento y sustento de los brāhmanas; y asimismo el establecimiento de los dioses, esto es, el culto en el templo. Pues el dharma tiene su raíz precisamente en ese fundamento.
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta)
Scene: A newly established temple with installed deity; beside it a brāhmaṇa residence/pāṭhaśālā. Ritual fire, kalasha, and chanting; the community gathers, signifying dharma’s ‘root’ taking hold.
Dharma stands on two pillars: sustaining dharma-teachers (vipras) and sustaining divine worship through established temples and deities.
No single holy site is named; the verse gives a general Purāṇic framework for sustaining tīrthas and sacred life.
Support brāhmaṇas in their dharmic role and establish/maintain deva-worship (temple institutions) as foundational religious duties.
