sa no rakṣatu goviṃdo bhayārtāste jaguḥ surāḥ | surāṇāṃ ciṃtitaṃ jñātvā bhagavāngaruḍadhvajaḥ
«¡Que Govinda nos proteja!»—así clamaron los dioses, afligidos por el temor. Conociendo lo que los dioses guardaban en su corazón, el Bienaventurado, cuyo estandarte es Garuḍa, (respondió).
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) narrating; prayer voiced by the Devas
Scene: The devas, anxious and disordered, raise their hands and cry ‘Govinda protect us!’ while Viṣṇu, Garuḍa-bannered, perceives their unspoken fear and turns his attention toward them.
Sincere prayer in fear becomes refuge; the Lord is portrayed as immediately aware of devotees’ inner need.
No tīrtha is referenced; this is a protection-prayer episode.
Calling upon Govinda for rakṣā (protection) through prayer is implied; no formal vow or donation is specified.
