इति व्याकुलिते लोके सुरासुरनरोरगे । आःकिमेतदकांडेभूद्रुरुदुर्दुद्रुवुः प्रजाः
iti vyākulite loke surāsuranarorage | āḥkimetadakāṃḍebhūdrurudurdudruvuḥ prajāḥ
Así, cuando el mundo quedó trastornado—entre dioses, asuras, hombres y serpientes—los seres clamaron: «¡Ay! ¿Qué calamidad repentina es ésta?»; llorando, corrían de un lado a otro, presa del pánico.
