ब्रह्मोवाच । ततस्तु मिलिताः सर्वे विमृश्य च परस्परम् । केचिदूचुस्तदा रामं वयं शिलोंछजीविकाः
brahmovāca | tatastu militāḥ sarve vimṛśya ca parasparam | kecidūcustadā rāmaṃ vayaṃ śiloṃchajīvikāḥ
Dijo Brahmā: «Entonces todos se reunieron y, tras deliberar entre sí, algunos dijeron a Rāma: “Vivimos del śiloñcha, recogiendo las espigas sobrantes, sosteniéndonos con lo más mínimo.”»
