FAQs

This is a chapter-colophon marking the completion of Adhyaya 6, emphasizing that discerning the varieties of pāpa (sin) is part of the Purāṇic path of ethical clarity that supports purification, devotion to Śiva, and eventual liberation.

By closing a section on pāpa-bheda, it frames Linga/Saguna-Śiva worship as a purifying discipline: understanding what binds the soul (pāśa) prepares the devotee to seek Śiva (Pati) through right conduct, repentance, and devotional worship.

While this line itself is a concluding marker, the topic points toward purification-oriented Shaiva practice—self-examination, confession/repentance, and steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) alongside disciplined worship.
