Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Phala-śruti for the Umāsaṃhitā: hearing/reciting it is itself a tīrtha-like merit, increasing Śiva-bhakti and granting both bhukti and mukti—interpretable in Siddhānta as worldly welfare under tirodhāna’s order and final release by anugraha.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It declares that studying this Saṃhitā is itself a sacred means (upāya): it nourishes Śiva-bhakti and, through that devotion and right understanding, leads the seeker from merit and well-being toward final liberation.
By praising the Saṃhitā as a bhakti-enhancer, it supports Saguna Śiva-upāsanā—devotion to Śiva with attributes (including Liṅga worship)—as a purifying discipline that matures into liberating knowledge and grace.
Regular recitation/hearing (śravaṇa) of the Śiva Purāṇa with devotion, coupled with remembrance of Śiva (japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), is implied as the practical takeaway for gaining both bhukti and mukti.
