Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
सनत्कुमार उवाच । द्वैपायन यदेतत्त्वं रहस्यं परिपृच्छसि । तच्छृणुष्व महाबुद्धे सर्वं मे वर्णयिष्यतः
sanatkumāra uvāca | dvaipāyana yadetattvaṃ rahasyaṃ paripṛcchasi | tacchṛṇuṣva mahābuddhe sarvaṃ me varṇayiṣyataḥ
Sanatkumāra dijo: Oh Dvaipāyana, el secreto que preguntas—escúchalo, oh de gran entendimiento. Te lo explicaré todo por completo.
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pashu
Role: teaching
It establishes the guru–śiṣya mode of transmission: an esoteric Shaiva truth (rahasya-tattva) is to be received through attentive listening, preparing the seeker for right knowledge that leads toward liberation under Pati (Śiva).
By introducing a “secret truth,” the text signals that external worship (including Liṅga-upāsanā) is supported by inner understanding; Saguna devotion becomes spiritually complete when guided by Shaiva knowledge and right intention.
The direct practice implied is śravaṇa (reverent listening) and contemplative attention to Shaiva teaching; it is the inner discipline that typically accompanies mantra-japa, bhasma (tripuṇḍra), and Rudrākṣa observances in the Purana’s broader context.
