Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
It emphasizes that lack of discernment (avichāra) in action leads to karmic consequence; in Shaiva thought, right understanding and dharmic restraint support purification that turns the soul (paśu) toward Shiva (Pati).
It indirectly supports Linga/Saguna Shiva worship by highlighting inner discipline—devotion to Shiva is not merely ritual, but must be accompanied by viveka (clear discrimination) and dharmic conduct to reduce pāśa (bondage).
Practice daily self-examination (vicāra) with Shiva-japa—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—so actions become deliberate, sattvic, and aligned with dharma.
