Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Cosmic Event: inter-loka travel (martya to brahmaloka)
It highlights humility and dharmic responsibility: even a powerful king seeks higher, ordained guidance for a life-defining decision, implying that worldly authority is secondary to cosmic order (vidhi) and right discernment.
Though the verse is narrative and centered on Brahmaloka, the Shaiva Purana’s broader frame teaches that all realms and authorities function under the Supreme Pati (Shiva); thus, saguna worship (including Linga-upasana) is presented as the stabilizing refuge beyond changing worldly circumstances.
The practical takeaway is to begin major life choices with reverent inquiry and prayer; a Shaiva application is to recite the Panchakshara mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and seek clarity with a disciplined, sattvic mind before acting.
