Enumeration of the Manvantaras and Manus

It situates spiritual life within sacred cosmic time (Manvantaras), implying that Dharma and Shiva-bhakti continue through successive ages under different Manus, while Shiva remains the constant Pati (Supreme Lord) beyond all cycles.
By naming Manus—guardians of law and ritual order—the verse supports the Purāṇic idea that prescribed worship (including Linga-upāsanā) is upheld in each Manvantara as a stable means for beings (paśu) to approach Shiva.
The implied takeaway is steadiness in daily Dharma: regular Shiva-pūjā with mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as a timeless practice preserved across Manvantaras.
