It situates worldly lineage within a sacred cosmology: beings arise in an ordered creation, yet Shaiva Siddhanta views all such emergence as ultimately dependent on Pati (Śiva), the supreme ground beyond the created Puruṣa.
By tracing creation through named progenitors, the Purana leads the devotee from the manifest (saguṇa) order back to the Lord who is worshipped as Śiva-liṅga—the stable symbol of the transcendent Pati who supports all generations.
Contemplate the dependence of all birth and lineage on the Supreme Lord while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offering water to the liṅga with the intent of seeing creation as Śiva’s regulated manifestation.
