Praise of Water-Gift and the Construction of Wells and Tanks
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Significance: Śiva’s direct injunction universalizes satya as a non-negotiable vow even under pressure (self-interest, altruism, or attachment to offspring); promises svarga as immediate fruit while implying higher eligibility for Śiva’s liberating grace.
It teaches that satya (truthfulness) is a core dharma that purifies the soul and loosens pāśa (bondage); refusing to lie even under pressure becomes a Shaiva ethical discipline that leads to higher spiritual destiny.
Linga-worship is not only external ritual but inner alignment with Shiva’s purity; speaking truth supports śuddhi (inner cleanliness), making devotion to Saguna Shiva sincere and fit for grace.
Adopt satya as a daily vrata alongside Shiva-upāsanā—recite the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a conscious resolve to avoid false speech, especially on pradosha or Mahāśivarātri.
