Entonces salió de aquel palacio como la Muerte misma empuñando el vajra. Por su mano fueron abatidos aquellos sirvientes, y después volvió a entrar en los aposentos interiores.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Bhairava
The verse uses the image of “Death with the thunderbolt” to convey unstoppable karmic consequence and the swift removal of obstructive forces—read inwardly, the slaying of attendants symbolizes the cutting down of inner obstacles (pāśa) that bind the soul (paśu) away from the Lord (Pati).
In the Yuddha narrative, decisive action reflects Saguna Shiva’s governance of protection and dissolution; devotion to the Linga is remembrance that the same Lord who dissolves outward enemies also dissolves inner bondage when approached with surrender and right worship.
As a practical takeaway, one may adopt protective japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady breath, and wear Rudrākṣa and Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as Shaiva disciplines for courage, restraint, and purification.
