हिरण्यनेत्रस्य तपः — Hiraṇyanetra’s Austerity and the Boon
शिव उवाच । यद्यस्मि रुद्रस्तव किं मया स्यात्किमर्थमेवं वदसीति मिथ्या । शृणु प्रभावं मम दैत्यनाथ न्याय्यं न वक्तुं वचनं त्वयैवम्
śiva uvāca | yadyasmi rudrastava kiṃ mayā syātkimarthamevaṃ vadasīti mithyā | śṛṇu prabhāvaṃ mama daityanātha nyāyyaṃ na vaktuṃ vacanaṃ tvayaivam
Shiva dijo: “Si de verdad soy tu Rudra, ¿qué necesidad hay de que yo haga algo? ¿Por qué hablas de esta manera, falsamente? Oh señor de los Daityas, escucha mi majestad. No es apropiado que pronuncies tales palabras como estas”.
