Genealogy and Nature
हिरण्याक्ष उवाच । पुत्रस्तु मे चन्द्रललाट नास्ति सुवीर्यवान्दैत्यकुलानुरूपी । तदर्थमेतद्व्रतमास्थितोऽहं तं देहि देवेश सुवीर्यवंतम्
hiraṇyākṣa uvāca | putrastu me candralalāṭa nāsti suvīryavāndaityakulānurūpī | tadarthametadvratamāsthito'haṃ taṃ dehi deveśa suvīryavaṃtam
Hiraṇyākṣa dijo: «Oh Señor de la luna en la frente, no tengo un hijo varonil, poderoso y digno del linaje de los Dāityas. Por esa causa he asumido este voto sagrado. Por ello, oh Señor de los Devas, concédeme un hijo dotado de gran valor».
