शिवस्य आश्वासनं हरि-ब्रह्मणोः तथा शङ्खचूडवृत्तान्तकथनम् / Śiva’s Reassurance to Hari and Brahmā; Account of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Origin
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: This is a devotional response (stuti posture) at Kailāsa, not a site-origin narrative.
Significance: Models śaraṇāgati-bhakti: humility (vinaya), añjali, and emotionally charged praise as the proper approach to Pati for grace.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It presents bhakti as an inner state expressed outwardly through reverent conduct—emotion-filled praise, folded hands, and humility—showing that surrender and vinaya are central to approaching Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who grants grace.
The verse emphasizes embodied devotion—stotra and namaskara—which are classic modes of Saguna Shiva worship and are equally fitting before the Shiva-Linga, where inner feeling (bhava) is offered through respectful gestures and praise.
Offer a short stotra or the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with folded hands, bowing the head/shoulders in humility; let the mind dwell on Shiva with softened speech and sincere devotion rather than mere formality.
