देवस्तुतिः (Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas
व्यास उवाच । ब्रह्मपुत्र महाप्राज्ञ वद मे वदतां वर । ततः किमभवद्देवाः कथं च सुखिनोऽभवन्
vyāsa uvāca | brahmaputra mahāprājña vada me vadatāṃ vara | tataḥ kimabhavaddevāḥ kathaṃ ca sukhino'bhavan
Dijo Vyāsa: «Oh hijo de Brahmā, oh sapientísimo, el mejor de los oradores, dime: ¿qué sucedió después? ¿Y cómo llegaron los dioses a la dicha y a la paz?»

Tattva Level: pashu
It frames a key Shaiva theme: true peace for the devas (and all beings) arises when disorder is resolved through divine grace and right order under Pati (Śiva), prompting inquiry into the unfolding of Shiva’s protective governance.
Though the verse is a narrative question, it points toward Saguna Shiva’s role as protector and restorer of harmony; such restoration is classically remembered and approached through Linga worship as a tangible focus of Śiva’s saving presence.
The practical takeaway is śravaṇa and manana—devotional listening and reflection on Shiva’s līlā—supported by simple japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to cultivate inner peace (sukha) aligned with Śiva.
