Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
Brahma

It highlights a key Shaiva insight: although Shiva is a perfect renunciate (virāgī), He is still the inner cause and support of the entire cosmic process—beginning, middle, and end—so creation can be auspicious only by His transcendental presence.
The verse points to Shiva as the formless ground of all (Nirguṇa) who is nonetheless approachable in worship (Saguṇa). Linga worship embodies this: the Linga signifies the transcendent cause, while ritual devotion engages the manifest Lord.
Meditate on Shiva as the ‘beginning–middle–end’ (ādya-antamadhya) while japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—stabilizing vairāgya (dispassion) and seeing all events as resting in Pati (Shiva).
