Nārada and Himālaya: Discourse on Pārvatī’s Signs and Destiny
Himavat (Himabhūdhara, Lord of the Himalayas)
Tattva Level: pashu
The verse highlights that true approach to Shaiva wisdom begins with humility (namaskāra), reverent posture (añjali), and right conduct (svavidhi). In Shaiva Siddhānta, this expresses the devotee’s readiness to receive Shiva-related teaching through proper devotional disposition.
Although the Linga is not named here, the verse models the inner bhāva required for Saguna Shiva worship—approaching the sacred with surrender, respect, and disciplined etiquette—qualities that make ritual (pūjā, abhiṣeka, mantra-japa) spiritually fruitful rather than merely formal.
A clear takeaway is the practice of namaskāra with añjali before prayer, japa, or listening to Purāṇic narration. The emphasis is on the correct devotional attitude and humility as the foundation for mantra and worship.
