Description of Menā’s Attainment of Boons
and the worship leading to Umā’s advent
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: liberating
The verse exalts steadfast dāsya (service) as a powerful form of bhakti: when devotion becomes firm and selfless, divine grace responds with boundless generosity, removing obstacles to the devotee’s spiritual goal.
It supports Saguna upāsanā through loving service—offering worship, attendance, and obedience. In Linga worship, steady seva (daily pūjā, vrata, and reverent conduct) is portrayed as the attitude that draws the Lord’s and Devī’s grace.
Cultivate dāsya-bhāva through regular Shiva-sevā: daily Linga abhiṣeka and repetition of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with disciplined consistency, treating the practice as devoted service rather than mere request-making.
