FAQs

The verse affirms the unfailing nature of divine resolve (śiva-saṅkalpa) within Śiva’s līlā: when dharma is threatened, the Lord’s grace manifests through an appropriate form and instrument—here, Śiva’s own son—showing that liberation and cosmic order ultimately rest on Pati (Śiva), not on demonic power.

Though Śiva is worshipped as the nirguṇa Absolute, devotees approach him as saguna Śambhu who actively protects the worlds. This assurance highlights that the same Lord adored in the Liṅga is also the compassionate, responsive deity whose family and manifestations accomplish the restoration of dharma.

A practical takeaway is steadfast japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with bhakti and trust in Śiva’s protection; traditionally, this is supported by simple Śaiva observances such as applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and maintaining a prayerful vow for the removal of inner ‘demonic’ obstacles (ego, anger, delusion).
