ब्रह्मोवाच । तच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं तस्य कंदर्पस्य सुरेश्वरः । उवाच वचनं प्रीत्या युक्तं युक्तमिति स्तुवन्

brahmovāca | tacchrutvā vacanaṃ tasya kaṃdarpasya sureśvaraḥ | uvāca vacanaṃ prītyā yuktaṃ yuktamiti stuvan

Brahmā dijo: Al oír las palabras de aquel Kandarpā (Kāma), el Señor de los dioses respondió con alegría, alabándolo: «Bien dicho; en verdad, esto es correcto y apropiado».

It shows how even the gods evaluate counsel by dharma—what is “yukta” (proper). In a Shaiva reading, worldly powers and desires must be aligned with right order, ultimately subordinate to Śiva’s higher purpose.

Though the verse is narrative, it frames the limits of deva-authority and kāma (desire). In Saguna Śiva-bhakti, devotees learn that all forces—pleasure, strategy, and power—are meaningful only when oriented toward Śiva, the supreme Pati beyond the devas.

The practical takeaway is discernment (viveka) before action: pause, hear rightly, and approve only what is “yukta.” This can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to steady intention so desire and effort remain dharmic.
