FAQs

The verse highlights bhakti expressed as humility and surrender—approaching the Lord (Pati) as one’s master while admitting one’s dīnatva (helplessness). In Shaiva Siddhanta, such self-offering loosens pāśa (bondage) and turns the soul toward grace.

It models the devotee’s stance before Saguna Shiva—prayerful submission and honest confession. Linga-worship similarly centers on approaching Shiva as the compassionate Lord who hears the devotee’s petition and responds through anugraha (grace).

A practical takeaway is daily supplicatory prayer before Shiva—after offering water/bilva to the Linga, recite the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) and then state one’s request with humility, acknowledging dependence on Shiva’s command and grace.
