न चक्रुर्बालकं याश्च लोचनानामगोचरम् । प्राणेभ्योपि प्रेमपात्रं यः पोष्टा तस्य पुत्रक
na cakrurbālakaṃ yāśca locanānāmagocaram | prāṇebhyopi premapātraṃ yaḥ poṣṭā tasya putraka
Aquellas mujeres no pudieron decidirse a contemplar al niño, pues estaba más allá del alcance de sus ojos. Era más querido que el propio aliento vital—el amado objeto de su amor—por ser el hijo entrañable de aquel que las había nutrido.
