Gaṇeśa’s Wedding Festival and the Progeny of Siddhi & Buddhi
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Offering: naivedya
It highlights dharma-guided divine planning: by preventing “kukrama” (wrong conduct) through a skillful pretext, the narrative affirms that auspicious outcomes arise when actions align with purity, restraint, and devotion within Shiva’s sacred order.
Gaṇeśa’s auspicious marriage is presented as part of Saguna Shiva’s household līlā—where divine grace operates through ethical order. Devotees approach Shiva in form (Saguna) as the guardian of dharma, seeking harmony in worldly duties while progressing toward liberation.
The takeaway is dharmic self-restraint and invoking auspiciousness before major rites—practically, begin with Gaṇeśa pūjā and Shiva-japa (e.g., “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to remove obstacles and keep intentions pure during samskāras like marriage.
