Luego, tras preparar el sthaṇḍila (suelo sagrado) y los materiales rituales conforme a las prescripciones védicas, debe realizarse aquí también el homa, libre de engaño o mezquindad respecto a la riqueza, ofreciendo con sinceridad.
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva Purana teachings to the sages, as typical for the Rudrasaṃhitā transmission)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: General rite-description: preparing sthaṇḍila (purified altar-ground) and performing homa per Vedic rule; sincerity (aśāṭhya) is required for efficacy.
Significance: Teaches that ritual correctness and inner integrity (non-miserliness) are both necessary—outer orthopraxy must match inner purity for Śiva’s favor.
Type: rudram
It teaches that Shaiva worship is not only external correctness (Vedic procedure) but also inner integrity—offerings must be made with honest devotion, without miserliness or deceit, aligning conduct with reverence for Shiva.
In Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-upasana—proper preparation of the worship-space and offerings, followed by homa, is presented as a disciplined way to honor Shiva, where sincerity in giving is itself an act of bhakti.
Prepare a clean worship-ground, arrange the prescribed offerings, and perform homa according to Vedic rules—while maintaining a non-miserly, truthful attitude in all offerings (dāna and āhuti), as part of Shaiva sadhana.
